Chapel West Special Services District Vision Plan
New Haven, Connecticut, 2005
The Chapel West District is a vital mixed-use urban corridor that includes the Yale University Arts area, Dwight neighborhood, and Hospital of St. Rafael. Since its formation as a special services district over the past two decades, vast improvements have been made in maintenance and public safety. Today, the district’s goal is to establish its identity and future. The general purpose of this project was to assess the existing physical and economic status of the district, define a viable vision strategy, and make urban design recommendations towards the future development of the district towards its vision as a living and working arts neighborhood.
