Hale Ike Mala
Location: Koloa, Hawai'i
Year: 2018
Inspired by the design principles of Hawaiian Modern master Vladimir Ossipoff, this new house is carefully integrated with its sloping site and is oriented to take advantage of the sun path, trade winds and views. The house has simple yet elegant lines, characterized by a long, low-slung roof, natural materials and an elevated swimming pool aligned with the Pacific Ocean below. The exterior is merged with the interior through the orchestration of architectural and landscape design from the entry bridge, through two floors of the structure to a terraced garden below. This is a 4 bedroom/4.5 bath home with approximately 4,500 square feet of interior and exterior living space.
