Dean Sakamoto had the honor of introducing architect Andrew Heid, founding principal of No Architecture, a New York-based firm on November 13, 2024 at the Liljestrand House Foundation's Design Conversation program to deliver his talk, Toward a Harmony Between Nature and Architecture.
This was a very special event as Dean initiated this LHF program in 2018 as a founding board member and Andrew was his student at the Yale School of Architecture over 20 years ago. Today, Andrew is a thought and practice leader in oontemporary architecture worldwide.
In addition to sharing his provocative architecture, Andrew intelligently shared his thoughts on his recent book, Glass Houses (Phaidon, 2023). The book is a curated selection of iconic historic, innovative yet rarely seen, and important contemporary custom-designed homes from around the world. It is a beautifully designed hardcover book which features classics such as Pierre Chareau’s Maison de Verre in Paris and the Courtyard House by No Architecture in Oregon.
