American Savings Bank Receives Honorable Mention at 2026 AIA Honolulu Design Awards

THANK YOU to AIA Honolulu for hosting a memorable Design Awards Gala at the historic Hawaii Theatre in Chinatown.

DSA is honored that the Design Awards Jury recognized our work with an Honorable Mention in the Interior Architecture category for the new American Savings Bank Downtown Branch at Bishop Square.

Though modest in size, this highly visible project marks a significant milestone as the first commercial interior in Hawaiʻi crafted entirely from locally harvested, milled, and fabricated invasive Albizia wood. Special mahalo to Nahele Lumber for supplying the Albizia and executing much of the architectural millwork, Four Square Solutions for the beautifully crafted casework, and Ralph S. Inouye Company for outstanding execution throughout the project.
